Base Salary
$296k - $375k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define a 12–24 month technical roadmap for Robot Software in partnership with engineering leadership.
- Lead the architecture and design of complex systems integrating the Robot layer with broader Embodied AI capabilities.
- Set standards for code quality, testing rigor, observability, and architectural design reviews.
- Identify cross-team technical risks and dependencies across hardware, software, simulation, data, and DevOps.
- Develop centralized, reusable solutions for organization-wide architectural and performance challenges.
- Mentor Senior and Staff engineers and cultivate strong technical decision-making.
- Provide technical direction ranging from long-term R&D initiatives to deep investigations of critical-path blockers.
Requirements
- Deep experience with robotics middleware such as ROS2, Cyber RT, or custom IPCs and with real-time systems.
- Mastery of C++ with a focus on memory management and concurrency.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Proven experience shipping complex autonomous systems, distributed systems, or safety-critical embedded software.
- Ability to debug complex issues across hardware and software boundaries.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate cross-system failures and simplify complex or monolithic codebases into modular architectures.
