Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python and Pytest.
- Build and maintain UI and end-to-end automation using Playwright.
- Develop automated test suites for API, UI, backend, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Drive API-first automation for microservices and platform capabilities.
- Validate REST APIs, service integrations, authentication, data contracts, error handling, and distributed workflows.
- Validate data-processing pipelines and data integrity using Python, SQL, and API-based validation.
- Test complex workflows across SIEM and ThreatQ/TIP products.
- Develop reusable automation libraries, utilities, fixtures, test-data management, and reporting capabilities.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and enable continuous testing.
- Analyze automation failures, application logs, API responses, and backend data for root-cause analysis.
- Participate in architecture discussions to improve testability, observability, reliability, and product quality.
- Identify regression risks and automate coverage for new features and production defect fixes.
- Mentor QA/SDET engineers on automation design, coding standards, debugging, and testing practices.
- Explore AI-assisted testing and automation to improve coverage, productivity, and defect detection.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or SDET roles.
- Strong programming experience in Python.
- Strong hands-on experience with Pytest, including fixtures, parametrization, reusable libraries, and framework design.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and end-to-end automation.
- Strong experience in REST API automation and testing.
- Experience designing or contributing to scalable automation frameworks rather than only writing individual test scripts.
- Strong understanding of microservices and distributed architectures.
- Experience with SQL and backend or data validation.
- Experience testing complex integration and end-to-end workflows.
- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, Harness, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Good understanding of Git, Linux/Unix, debugging, logging, and defect-management tools such as JIRA.
- Strong understanding of software-testing principles, test-design techniques, regression strategies, and Agile development practices.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Ability to take end-to-end ownership of quality for a feature or product area.
- Ability to understand complex product architectures and identify appropriate testing strategies.
- Strong collaboration skills with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and QA/SDET teams.
