Base Salary

$100k - $300k/yr

Responsibilities

Conduct original research in AI, automated reasoning, and AI-driven code analysis.
Develop and prototype novel AI techniques for code reasoning and code generation.
Design automated testing and fuzzing strategies to validate and stress-test systems.
Independently navigate ambiguity, adapt research approaches, and iterate toward robust solutions.
Publish research findings at top-tier conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to incorporate research breakthroughs into Cogent’s AI platform.
Track developments in machine learning and program analysis and propose relevant improvements.

Hands-on experience with static analysis, dynamic analysis, formal verification, automated testing, and/or fuzzing.
Demonstrated experience developing or applying AI/ML techniques to code reasoning or code generation.
Research publications accepted at recognized conferences or peer-reviewed journals.
Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science or a closely related technical field.
Highly self-directed, proactive, and independent working style.
Passion for Cogent’s mission and its cybersecurity objectives.
Bonus: cybersecurity experience involving vulnerability classes, exploit techniques, or secure-by-design systems.
Bonus: familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK.

For California-based applicants, the standard base salary range is $100,000–$300,000 annually.
Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.
