Android Software Engineer
Toast, Inc.Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performing, flexible, and scalable Android solutions for Toast POS hardware.
- Ship product features end to end from design through rollout, monitoring, and iteration.
- Build user experiences using modern Android development best practices.
- Create products and features that improve restaurant guest experiences.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and help improve Toast’s Android experience.
Requirements
- Require 2–4 years of Android development experience with Kotlin and/or Java.
- Require hands-on experience shipping production Android applications.
- Require experience with modern Android tooling and frameworks.
- Comfortably read and integrate with REST and GraphQL backend services.
- Demonstrate strong software development fundamentals, including code quality, unit testing, and clean code.
- Be interested in AI-assisted development and LLM-based agents such as Claude Code.
- Be comfortable with ambiguity, incremental delivery, collaboration, and evolving workflows with AI tooling.
