Responsibilities
- Use AI-powered tools throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements exploration, implementation, testing, and debugging.
- Design, build, test, and maintain production software using sound engineering principles.
- Evaluate AI-generated solutions for code quality, security, and responsible AI usage.
- Explore emerging AI technologies and automation to improve engineering workflows.
- Participate in feature design, planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement with engineering, UX, and Product Management teams.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled at a partner university in the second year of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Be seeking a 12-month placement from June 2027 through May 2028.
- Currently reside in Northern Ireland and have the right to work in the UK.
- Have a solid foundation in programming and software engineering principles, with enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
- Demonstrate curiosity about AI, strong problem-solving and communication skills, collaboration, and willingness to learn.
- Personal, academic, or open-source software projects and experience with AI-assisted development tools are desirable.
