Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers on cross-functional security projects.
  • Apply secure-by-default design principles with product and infrastructure engineering teams.
  • Contribute to threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, or offensive security initiatives.
  • Develop internal tools and automation to scale security efforts.
  • Participate in threat modeling and improve security processes, tooling, and defenses.
  • Review code and technical designs and provide actionable insights for detecting and responding to potentially malicious activity.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science or a related field, graduating by Summer 2026.
  • Programming experience through side projects or classwork, with familiarity in languages such as Java, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Scala, or Go.
  • Experience from internships or collaborative multi-person coding projects in university or professional settings.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar systems through independent research, mentoring, and work with subject matter experts.
  • Ability to reason like an attacker and identify approaches to reducing security risk.
  • Preferred: experience with code review and safely updating production systems.
  • Preferred: familiarity with large codebases, cybersecurity, digital forensics, incident response, OWASP Top 10, SQL, data analysis, and cloud computing platforms.
