Base Salary

$177k - $213k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect and optimize distributed pipelines that process multimodal camera, LiDAR, radar, and kinematics logs
  • Develop heuristic-based and ML-assisted algorithms to classify and describe complex driving scenarios
  • Extract and format scenario data using the Pegasus layer standard and maintain metadata integrity
  • Ingest tagged events into the observations database for fast querying, ML training, regression testing, and system validation
  • Collaborate with perception, simulation, and systems-engineering teams to define and operationalize interesting scenarios
  • Drive technical alignment across organizational boundaries with broad autonomy
  • Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, establish coding standards, and promote technical excellence

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or another STEM field
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, ML systems, or autonomous data curation
  • Strong Python and SQL skills with experience processing massive time-series or unstructured datasets
  • Hands-on machine-learning and dataset-curation experience with measurable downstream model improvements
  • Experience with Databricks or similar platforms for large-scale analytics and querying
  • Expertise with distributed compute frameworks such as Ray, Spark, or Beam
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure for heavy data workloads
  • Experience parsing complex data formats and applying scenario-description standards such as Pegasus layers
  • Exceptional communication skills for translating complex data-engineering challenges into strategies for cross-functional stakeholders
  • Proven technical leadership, including mentoring, system architecture, and engineering-roadmap definition
  • Familiarity with foundational models, auto-labeling pipelines, or zero-shot classification
  • Experience with vLLM, SGLang, or similar high-throughput model-serving frameworks
  • Experience with semantic extraction, attribute mapping, semantic retrieval systems, or vector databases
  • Familiarity with ROS bags, MCAP, Parquet, and Arrow
  • Knowledge of generative simulation, neural rendering, or sensor-fusion validation workflows
