Base Salary
$245k - $335k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI components including foundation-model training, LLM inference, agents, multi-agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Optimize foundation-model training and inference systems for scalability, cost, latency, throughput, accuracy, and hardware utilization.
- Define technical direction and enterprise architecture standards for AI tooling, deployment, observability, and evaluation.
- Design and integrate model routing, caching, and orchestration systems for hybrid and multi-model workloads.
- Champion transparency, reproducibility, fairness, and other responsible AI principles.
- Lead internal education, mentorship, architecture councils, and AI guild knowledge-sharing efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus at least 8 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a master's degree in one of these fields plus at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- At least 8 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
- Experience designing complex AI systems and making tradeoffs involving cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy.
- Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud.
- Experience developing AI and ML technologies such as LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, and memory.
- Experience optimizing training and inference software and building agentic AI systems and workflows.
- Ability to lead and mentor multiple engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders up to the VP level.
- Experience defining enterprise AI architecture standards, governance, observability, evaluation frameworks, multi-cloud strategies, and research-to-production processes.
- Experience defining AI metrics and right-sizing models, instances, and hardware for workload requirements.
- Strong communication, presentation, research literacy, engineering, mathematics, hardware, software, and AI expertise.
