Responsibilities
- Lead development, implementation, and delivery of SDN solutions for software-defined datacenters.
- Design and develop network automation solutions and infrastructure management platforms using Python, Go, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.
- Architect and deploy network orchestration systems across AWS, Azure, GCP, and private-cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain network automation frameworks, APIs, tooling, and infrastructure-as-code integrations with network devices, controllers, and monitoring systems.
- Drive governance and adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and incident analysis.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Collaborate with network architects, security teams, product owners, and infrastructure engineers to troubleshoot applications and meet reliability requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and evaluate emerging SDN, AI-assisted automation, and DevOps technologies.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure development and DevOps networking engineering.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Strong Python, Go, JavaScript, Rust, and Shell scripting experience for network automation and infrastructure management.
- Experience leading development projects in Agile, cross-functional environments.
- Deep knowledge of BGP, VRF, MPLS, IP, TCP, UDP, VPC, CNI, hybrid-cloud connectivity, and VMware NSX-T SDN capabilities.
- Experience with Jenkins, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, network automation frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Experience using and governing enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with validation for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Strong distributed-systems troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, optimization, problem-solving, communication, and independent decision-making skills.
- Preferred experience with Cisco ACI, Calico, OVN, Cilium, policy-as-code, network security automation, and zero-trust architecture.
- Preferred networking certifications include AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer.
- Preferred experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-powered development tools and Specification-Driven Development methodologies.
