Base Salary

$107k - $154k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Write and verify embedded firmware for ST microcontrollers, COTS devices, and MCUs integrated into custom ASICs.
  • Implement control algorithms for high-precision quantum sensing instruments.
  • Develop peripheral drivers for mixed-signal devices using electronic schematics.
  • Partner with hardware engineers on board testing and bring-up activities.
  • Participate in code reviews, GitHub task-ticket workflows, and retrospectives.
  • Document and communicate technical work in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited program.
  • Demonstrated ability to write production-quality C/C++ for small embedded processors.
  • Experience with interrupt service routines, peripheral drivers, and multithreaded firmware using RTOSs and/or bare-metal environments.
  • Scripting experience in Python, Perl, or similar languages.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, function generators, and voltmeters.
  • Ability to debug and isolate issues using debuggers and simulation tools.
  • Comfort working in a laboratory setting.
  • Eligibility under U.S. export-control requirements as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or qualifying refugee or asylee.
  • Preferred: experience designing PID or other control algorithms, fixed-point arithmetic, digital filter design, communication protocols, assembly programming, lightweight Ethernet stacks such as lwIP, or SoC/FPGA devices.
