Responsibilities
- Support the design, validation, and maintenance of electrical profiles for SIM and eSIM products.
- Design and implement Java Card applets for SIM/eSIM services using 3GPP, ETSI, and GSMA standards.
- Write and maintain applet specifications, electrical profile specifications, API documentation, and test plans.
- Collaborate with mobile core network, security, IoT device vendor, and smart card vendor teams.
- Develop, test, and support SIM-based applications and tools and their integrations within the SIM/eSIM ecosystem.
- Contribute to peer reviews of electrical test data and reports and support the technical development of team members.
Requirements
- A third-level qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technology discipline.
- Three to six years of experience working in a technology organization, preferably in telecoms technology, including up to three years of SIM/eSIM/OTA engineering R&D experience.
- Experience with Remote SIM Provisioning technologies, including GSMA SGP.02, SGP.22, and SGP.32.
- Knowledge of SIM/eSIM architecture and protocols, including APDU and ISO 7816.
- Familiarity with relevant 3GPP and ETSI SIM standards, such as TS 31.102 and TS 102.221.
- Experience with smart card test and trace tools such as Comprion.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and cryptographic protocols.
- Proficiency with version control systems and development tools, including Git.
- Knowledge of SIM operating systems for secure elements, such as MULTOS and native SIM OS.
- Experience with MNOs or handset OEMs and familiarity with HSS, OTA platforms, and test SIMs.
- Experience or knowledge of Postman API, Java, C#, SQL, and scripting.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as DataDog and Zabbix.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools including Confluence and Jira is desirable.
- Experience working in a Kanban model is desirable.
- Ability to solve problems, work independently, improve processes, communicate effectively, and guide or mentor less experienced colleagues.
