Responsibilities
- Write, modify, adapt, develop, test, debug, and document software applications and code for survey harmonization projects.
- Develop test data and testing routines, ensure applications are thoroughly tested before release, and prepare test-result reports.
- Identify comparability of survey items across survey years and different surveys and document the results.
- Design analysis variables, develop datasets, create tables, perform analyses, and communicate findings to research teams.
- Prepare extensive documentation for harmonized codebooks according to internal and external standards.
- Participate in producing research publications in collaboration with researchers.
- Collaborate with internal and external programmers and researchers.
- Give online and in-person technical presentations and demonstrations and attend conferences as a representative of the Gateway to Global Aging Data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; combined work experience and education may be accepted as equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant experience required.
- General knowledge of programming and documentation procedures, programming methods, and operator instructions.
- Knowledge of one or more appropriate computer languages.
- Demonstrated data-management and programming skills.
- High technical competency with Stata, SAS, or R preferred.
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
