Responsibilities
- Lead strategy, design, and delivery for a core part of NIRA's platform.
- Identify strategic needs and surface risks proactively.
- Drive large, high-stakes projects from design to shipping.
- Promote the adoption of AI-native engineering tools.
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar.
- Manage SEV1 and lower incident responses.
- Align with global teams and influence product roadmaps.
- Simplify complex system designs.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building web APIs, preferably in Java and Spring Boot.
- Deep experience with financial systems and complex lifecycles.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and queue-based architectures.
- Proven track record of scaling consumer products with high transaction volumes.
- Ability to take end-to-end ownership of initiatives.
- Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
- A mentor who actively raises the bar for fellow engineers.
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI development tools.
- Preference for simplicity over complex abstractions.
