Responsibilities
- Lead the design, evolution, and delivery of scalable and resilient platforms supporting customer and banker experiences.
- Drive architecture and engineering decisions across multiple squads and technology domains.
- Establish reusable engineering patterns, frameworks, standards, accelerators, and platform capabilities.
- Shape platform strategy across cloud, APIs, customer engagement services, workflow orchestration, data pipelines, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Design enterprise data pipelines and robust batch and streaming data processing solutions.
- Define data quality, lineage, observability, governance standards, service boundaries, and ownership models.
- Partner with product, architecture, risk, business, and delivery stakeholders to achieve customer and business outcomes.
- Embed security, privacy, operational resilience, responsible AI, and secure-by-design principles into platform delivery.
- Mentor and coach engineers while influencing technical strategy and promoting engineering excellence.
- Own production platforms and contribute to monitoring, incident management, reliability, automated testing, and deployment practices.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and reliable software solutions.
- Experience operating as a Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer, or senior technical leader in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong track record designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems and platform capabilities.
- Experience making architecture decisions across cloud-native, API-driven, or customer-facing platforms.
- Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, .NET, TypeScript, Go, or similar modern software development languages.
- Experience with backend, frontend, and integration capabilities, including React or Next.js.
- Experience with APIs, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and Domain-Driven Design.
- Experience architecting enterprise data pipelines with Python and Apache Airflow and designing batch and streaming processing solutions.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture, deployment automation, DevSecOps, automated testing, observability, monitoring, operational resilience, and production platform ownership.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and establish engineering standards and platform strategies across multiple teams.
- Strong mentoring and coaching capability.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
- Experience with LLMs, AI-agent architectures, RAG, responsible AI controls, model evaluation, monitoring, and operationalisation is highly regarded.
