Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable authentication and authorization systems, including login flows, session management, token issuance, and access control.
- Design and implement cloud-based identity solutions supporting SSO, MFA, and federated identity integrations.
- Own and evolve the authentication platform and establish consistent identity implementation standards across services and client applications.
- Lead technical design discussions and guide engineers on security-sensitive coding, architecture, and engineering practices.
- Collaborate with product, security, and compliance teams to deliver identity features that meet customer and quality requirements.
- Mentor mid-level engineers and help foster continuous learning and improvement.
- Evaluate emerging identity and access management technologies, tools, and trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years focused on authentication, authorization, or identity management.
- Deep expertise in OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, and MFA/passwordless flows.
- Experience designing complex distributed systems and working with microservices, containerization, and orchestration.
- Hands-on experience with one or more cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and secure handling of personally identifiable information and credentials.
- Familiarity with identity-related security and compliance requirements such as SOC 2 or HIPAA is a plus.
- Experience leading technical design discussions, guiding engineers, and applying coding and architecture standards.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills.
