Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust Python-based automation framework with reusable components, libraries, architecture patterns, scalability, and maintainability.
- Lead automation solutions through requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and customer release.
- Define and enforce software design principles, coding standards, architectural patterns, API contracts, and versioning strategies.
- Develop production-grade Python code and Bash or PowerShell scripts for system-level automation.
- Design and maintain Docker-based build environments and integrate automation into Jenkins CI/CD workflows.
- Promote unit, integration, regression, and continuous integration testing practices to improve code quality.
- Collaborate with internal customers and DevOps teams to translate operational needs into software solutions.
- Document architectural decisions, deployment procedures, and developed tools while supporting traceability and engineering standards.
- Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve the automation ecosystem.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field, with relevant experience in software architecture and DevOps environments.
- At least 3 years of experience in software development and architecture, ideally in automation or tooling domains.
- Advanced Python programming skills, including design patterns, object-oriented programming, and modular architectures.
- Strong Bash or PowerShell scripting experience for automation and integration tasks.
- Proficiency with Docker and containerized development environments.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Jenkins.
- Understanding of software architecture patterns, API design, and versioning strategies.
- Strong focus on code quality, testing, maintainability, communication, stakeholder management, autonomy, and customer orientation.
- Negotiation-level English; German and/or French is a plus.
- Additional valuable skills include microservices and event-driven architecture, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, FastAPI, Flask, Git-based workflows, code reviews, semantic versioning, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, RPC, logging, monitoring, telemetry, domain-driven design, and hexagonal architecture.
