Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, and optimize data warehousing applications and scalable data pipelines.
- Implement and manage Redshift Spectrum, materialized views, stored procedures, UDFs, data sharing, and federated queries.
- Perform Redshift query and workload optimization using distribution styles, sort keys, WLM/QMR, and execution-plan analysis.
- Automate Redshift administration and data workflows using Python, SQL, AWS CLI, or similar tools.
- Implement row-level security, column-level security and masking, auditing, and secure data sharing.
- Act as a subject-matter expert, manage team collaboration, and make decisions across multiple teams.
- Lead best-practice initiatives, mentor junior team members, and coordinate technical solutions with stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience is required.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Amazon Redshift and data warehousing architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Redshift Spectrum, Amazon S3, materialized views, stored procedures, and UDFs.
- Experience with Redshift Data Sharing and Federated Queries involving transactional databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Strong knowledge of Redshift performance tuning, including distribution styles, sort keys, WLM/QMR, and query execution plans.
- Experience integrating Redshift with data ingestion and analytics tools and automating workflows with Python, SQL, AWS CLI, or similar tools.
- Experience with row-level security, column-level security or masking, auditing, and secure data sharing.
- Liquibase experience for CI/CD of database objects, SQL code, stored procedures, and Redshift deployments is preferred.
- Experience serving as a subject-matter expert, making team decisions, mentoring team members, and coordinating with stakeholders.
