Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support embedded software for advanced detection systems.
  • Develop software for low-power microcontrollers and Linux-based environments.
  • Lead technical investigations, propose solutions, and own technical work packages.
  • Define software requirements, interfaces, and system behavior.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Contribute to software architecture, technical documentation, code reviews, and software engineering best practices.
  • Perform unit, integration, and system-level testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
  • Contribute to Agile development activities, sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate technical solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience developing software for embedded systems.
  • Strong modern C/C++ programming skills in embedded environments.
  • Experience with low-power microcontrollers, embedded hardware, RTOS environments, and Linux.
  • Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and USB communication protocols.
  • Strong Linux experience, ideally including system configuration and command-line operation.
  • Familiarity with Rocky Linux, CentOS, or Red Hat-based distributions.
  • Experience with Git version control and modern development workflows.
  • Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
  • Ability to independently own and deliver technical work packages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eligibility for BPSS clearance and ability to obtain SC Security Clearance.
  • Desirable experience with Python scripting and automation; FreeRTOS, Keil RTX, or ThreadX; Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence; oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters; electronic schematics; regulated or safety-critical environments; and open-source software contributions.
