Base Salary
$70k - $126k/yr
Responsibilities
- Travel to drop zones and test ranges for flight-test and demonstration events, typically for one to two weeks per trip.
- Set up, configure, and operate ground stations and telemetry equipment in field environments.
- Conduct pre-drop software and system checks and assist with rigging, load buildup, and aircraft loading.
- Recover and validate flight data and provide quick-look analyses supporting go/no-go decisions.
- Develop and execute software test procedures and investigate failures from laboratory, ground, and flight testing.
- Operate integration test benches, software-in-the-loop systems, and hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Maintain, adapt, and develop telemetry parsers, flight-log tools, post-drop analysis scripts, ground-station utilities, and imagery-analysis tools.
- Support cybersecurity working groups, Risk Management Framework activities, annual security reviews, and Authority to Operate documentation.
- Run and interpret vulnerability scans, triage findings, propose remediation plans, and track issues to closure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 2–6 years of experience; additional experience, training, or certifications may substitute for the degree.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Common Access Card.
- Proficiency with Python and/or C/C++ programming and software development.
- Working knowledge of several areas including Git/GitLab workflows, configuration management, software integration, debugging, verification and testing, Linux command-line environments, embedded software or firmware, hardware integration, and software logs and telemetry.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly across diverse technical teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% based on program needs.
- Preferred experience includes embedded systems, avionics, robotics, autonomous systems, aerospace systems, developmental or operational testing, field or laboratory troubleshooting, source-code or merge-request reviews, Python data-processing tools, government or DoD programs, and DoD cybersecurity or RMF processes.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification or equivalent cloud experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical, technical, communication, organizational, independent-work, and cross-functional collaboration skills are preferred.
