Responsibilities
- Plan, design, implement, and maintain Rust components and applications with the Hungary-based engineering team.
- Help the Data Science team build a unified SDK that wraps AI-based models for integration into Aether.
- Review requirements, contribute to feature design, and write clean, idiomatic, maintainable Rust code.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and document work including public Rust APIs.
- Identify code improvements, collaborate with global engineers, and deliver secure, reliable, and performant software.
- Support junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming while developing advanced systems programming skills.
Requirements
- Good foundation in software engineering principles and good knowledge of Rust, including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, generics, and idiomatic Result-based error handling.
- Familiarity with Cargo and the Rust toolchain, including rustup, clippy, and rustfmt.
- Understanding of Rust concurrency, threads, Send/Sync, atomics, synchronization primitives, thread pools, producer-consumer patterns, lock contention, and race-condition avoidance.
- Experience with Docker or containerization and knowledge of Semantic Versioning and Cargo dependency management, including workspaces, crates, and feature flags.
- Experience or familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, with TeamCity preferred.
- Solid understanding of design patterns, trait-based composition, and clean, readable code, plus proficiency in English.
- Preferred qualifications include Windows or Linux OS-level knowledge, SDK or library API design, ML model inference packaging such as ONNX Runtime, async or unsafe Rust, FFI, performance profiling, benchmarking, AWS services, and cybersecurity, compression, parser, SIMD, or ML experience.
