Base Salary
$130k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate machine-learning, data-mining, retrieval, and ranking methods using confidence, disagreement, embeddings, anomalies, temporal behavior, and learned representations.
- Build semantic image, video, and scenario search with multimodal retrieval, vector search, metadata and temporal or spatial filters, ranking, and search-quality improvements.
- Build and operate distributed mining, inference, and indexing pipelines over fleet-scale imagery, video, time-series, and autonomy-system data.
- Design and ship end-to-end mining products with Python APIs and services, relational models, asynchronous jobs, TypeScript/React interfaces, access control, testing, observability, and production reliability.
- Perform work according to the company’s Quality Management System requirements and contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience developing and evaluating machine-learning, data-mining, computer-vision, or information-retrieval methods using a framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Understanding of model uncertainty and evaluation, embeddings and similarity search, and how training-data composition affects model behavior.
- Preferred experience with backend services, REST APIs, relational data modeling, SQL, and JavaScript or TypeScript frontend development using React or a comparable framework.
- Preferred experience with training or fine-tuning, active learning, data flywheels, hard-example mining, uncertainty or disagreement signals, dataset curation, autonomous driving, robotics, or perception.
- Preferred experience with CLIP-style models, VLMs, vector databases such as Milvus, FAISS, or pgvector, or GPU batch inference at scale.
- Strong ownership, learning ability, and willingness to drive projects end to end.
