Base Salary
$136k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Guide technical decisions for the Austin platform engineering team while remaining hands-on in production software development.
- Architect scalable microservices and platform APIs using Java or Kotlin for internal developer workflows.
- Evolve Kubernetes platform architecture to improve reliability, observability, and infrastructure scalability.
- Build responsive React experiences that simplify internal platform workflows.
- Guide technical design decisions, code reviews, and distributed-systems tradeoffs while mentoring engineers.
- Partner with global engineering teams to evolve platform capabilities and integrate applied AI into developer workflows.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep experience building shared developer platforms or cloud infrastructure at meaningful scale.
- Strong Java, Spring Boot, or Kotlin expertise developing production microservices and distributed systems.
- Advanced Kubernetes knowledge, including controllers, orchestration, and platform automation.
- Frontend experience with React and strong Python scripting and automation skills.
- Proven technical leadership in guiding engineers through complex decisions and mentoring others.
