Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-volume, low-latency, highly scalable mission-critical applications.
- Develop Java microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Spring, and Hibernate.
- Perform application coding, integration testing, unit testing, and deployment through CI/CD tools.
- Write JavaScript unit tests using modern testing and mocking frameworks.
- Secure microservice applications according to Citi security standards.
- Implement monitoring controls and integrate applications with monitoring and reporting tools.
- Tune application performance and availability to meet SLOs and SLAs.
- Contribute to SRE continuous-improvement work and end-to-end resiliency and business-continuity testing.
- Provide Level 3 support for critical application issues.
- Collaborate effectively in an Agile development environment and use JIRA for day-to-day development work.
Requirements
- At least five years of strong Core Java/J2EE experience and at least two years of Java microservices development experience.
- Experience with Java-based microservices frameworks, Spring Boot, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, and Node.js.
- Deep knowledge of SOA, microservices, and REST service development.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Technical knowledge of Agentic AI, MCP server, and related tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server or MongoDB is an advantage.
- Exposure to AI coding tools such as Devin and Cursor.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
