Base Salary
$204k - $259k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop signals to measure the performance and driving qualities of the Waymo driver.
- Use simulation and real-world driving logs to assess driving performance.
- Design methods to connect onboard software changes with simulated outcomes.
- Champion code health and best practices in a complex code base.
- Analyze data to improve metric quality and interpretability.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and leadership to deliver evaluation products.
Requirements
- BS/MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, Physics, Math, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong self-motivation to navigate complex systems and solve open-ended problems.
- 3+ years of industry experience with large code bases in languages like C++, Python, and SQL.
- Experience building data processing pipelines and maintaining code quality.
- Quantitative fluency is essential.
