Base Salary
$125k - $155k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and modernize software applications handling genetic data.
- Create complex data workflows, pipelines, and RESTful/JSON-based APIs.
- Deploy and manage cloud applications for scalability and reliability.
- Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and participate in peer code reviews.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Bioinformatics, laboratory, and cross-functional teams in agile workflows.
- Mentor junior and mid-level bioinformatics engineers and lead technical workshops.
- Coach teammates on design patterns, clean coding, cloud architecture optimization, and clinical pipeline validation.
- Facilitate onboarding and pair-programming sessions for new team members.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of full-stack development, including front-end, back-end, and databases.
- Experience with modern software development practices, testing, and automated tests.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and a test-driven development mindset.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, adaptability, prioritization, and continuous-learning skills.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred qualifications include health-industry knowledge or an interest in genetics and bioinformatics.
- Preferred qualifications include cloud implementation experience, AWS experience, and experience designing complex data workflows, pipelines, and RESTful/JSON-based APIs.
- An advanced degree is preferred.
