Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines and workflow automation that convert fleet and sensor data into model-ready datasets.
- Design or extend ML platform tooling, including labeling systems, data engines, and distributed compute used across autonomy teams.
- Use AWS or GCP to scale data ingestion, storage, and processing workloads.
- Partner with ML engineers to translate model requirements into pipeline and platform design decisions.
- Instrument systems for observability and help harden prototypes for production use.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Golang.
- Working knowledge of data pipeline and ETL concepts and basic distributed-systems tradeoffs such as the CAP theorem.
- Experience with AWS or GCP.
- Applied exposure to ML, robotics, maps/geospatial systems, or a comparable domain.
- Hands-on experience building or extending a backend system or pipeline with scale-up or scale-out requirements.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Spark, Ray, or Dask; fluency with AI/agentic coding tooling; and prior internship or industry experience with production data infrastructure.
Benefits
- Hourly pay is $47–$58 depending on location and degree level.
- Summer 2027 internship based in Mountain View, San Francisco, or Pittsburgh.
- In-person work is required at least three days per week, with some roles requiring up to five days per week.
