Responsibilities
- Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms across public cloud platforms.
- Design, develop, debug, optimize, and operate resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers.
- Build production-grade backend software, microservices, Infrastructure-as-Code, and containerized services.
- Use and contribute to open-source technologies including Spinnaker and Zookeeper.
- Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Improve service availability, resilience, performance, and technical-debt management while participating in on-call operations.
- Apply advanced prompt engineering and maintain shared system context for reliable, secure AI-assisted engineering and agent workflows.
Requirements
- A related technical degree is required.
- 5+ years of backend software development experience.
- Deep programming knowledge in Java, Go, Python, or Ruby.
- Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
- Experience with Agile development methodology and Test Driven Development.
- Experience with critical infrastructure services including monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications.
- Experience with distributed database systems; relational database experience such as PostgreSQL is a plus.
- A genuine AI-first engineering approach, experience using AI development tools, and advanced prompt engineering skills.
- U.S. citizenship, operation on U.S. soil, and ability to meet applicable customer and government screening standards, including Criminal Justice Information Services screening with fingerprint scan.
