Base Salary
$176k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement motion-planning algorithms for non-holonomic autonomous vehicles.
- Develop multi-agent coordination systems that prevent deadlocks and collisions.
- Build fleet-planning and dispatch algorithms for dynamically assigning autonomous haul trucks.
- Create simulation and visualization tools to validate planning algorithms.
- Optimize planning algorithms for real-time performance in production environments.
- Collaborate with controls engineers to ensure planned paths are executable.
- Debug fleet-level issues using logged data and replay tools.
- Travel periodically to customer sites, up to 5%, and provide schedule flexibility during deployments.
Requirements
- A BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- At least 3 years of professional, non-internship software development experience is required.
- Strong foundation in motion-planning algorithms and computational geometry is required.
- Proficiency in Python and NumPy for numerical computing is required.
- Understanding of vehicle kinematics and nonholonomic constraints is required.
- Ability to analyze algorithm complexity and optimize for real-time performance is required.
- Preferred qualifications include multi-agent coordination, scheduling, trajectory optimization, graph algorithms, computational geometry libraries, fleet management or dispatch systems, Redis, ZeroMQ, and modern machine-learning techniques for planning.
