Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain in-vehicle data logger systems for camera, ultrasonic, radar, and vehicle-bus data.
- Develop reprocessing and re-simulation systems for replaying recorded sensor data through perception and system software.
- Build system test tools and frameworks supporting HIL/SIL testing, data validation, regression testing, and automated test execution.
- Develop data-processing pipelines for large-scale sensor data in MDF4, CSV, ORC, MP4, and Parquet formats.
- Design and maintain cloud infrastructure, databases, schemas, and services for sensor-data ingestion, storage, indexing, reprocessing, and retrieval.
- Develop image-processing and sensor-data visualization tools for quality checks and analysis.
- Collaborate with data collection, annotation, calibration, and software teams and gather tool requirements from stakeholders.
- Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and provide tool documentation, training, and user support.
- Track project progress, support prioritization and resource use, and contribute to process, safety, and validation methods.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in software tool development, with automotive data logging or reprocessing experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, with additional experience in C, C#, or PySpark.
- Experience with camera, ultrasonic, radar, LiDAR, IMU, GPS, sensor synchronization, annotation concepts, and validation processes.
- Experience developing system test tools, data loggers, or reprocessing and re-simulation systems for automotive or autonomous-vehicle environments.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL database design, data modeling, query optimization, and database development.
- Experience with cloud development, preferably AWS, including services such as S3, EC2, and Lambda; Azure and Databricks experience are also relevant.
- Knowledge of image-processing techniques and libraries such as OpenCV.
- Experience or familiarity with PTC Integrity, Codebeamer, ADTF, ROS, Docker, Git, and CI/CD.
- Familiarity with autonomous-driving standards, ADAS systems, and sensor calibration is preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, decision-making, prioritization, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; fluent English is required.
- Willingness to manage multiple tasks and work effectively with global stakeholders.
