Responsibilities

  • Implement behavioral-planning solutions for lane changes, merges, yields, and multi-agent interactions.
  • Design and optimize geometry-based path and context-aware speed-planning algorithms for smooth and safe trajectories.
  • Develop geometry and velocity-planning systems that support feasibility, compliance, and comfort across driving scenarios.
  • Model complex driving environments and agent behaviors for planning under uncertainty.
  • Formulate cost functions and optimization frameworks balancing safety, comfort, and efficiency.
  • Analyze, test, and debug system performance using simulation and real-world data.
  • Collaborate with Perception, Prediction, and Control researchers and engineers to integrate the autonomy stack.

Requirements

  • Recently completed or soon-to-complete PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Research or internship experience in motion planning, behavioral planning, trajectory optimization, control, or multi-agent interaction modeling.
  • Research ability demonstrated through publications in top-tier conferences such as RSS, ICRA, IROS, CVPR, NeurIPS, or CoRL.
  • Hands-on experience with C++ for implementing complex, real-time algorithms.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
