Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain embedded software from proof-of-concept prototypes through ruggedized production systems.
- Develop and optimize firmware and middleware for Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, and ARM-based systems-on-module platforms.
- Write and debug low-level drivers and interfaces for cameras, peripherals, and environmental sensors.
- Optimize edge software using hardware acceleration such as CUDA and TensorRT for real-time processing and computer vision.
- Design fault-detection, automated recovery, and secure over-the-air firmware update systems.
- Collaborate with hardware, electrical, mechanical, and cloud backend engineering teams on system architecture and interfaces.
- Drive code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and documentation.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 6 years of professional embedded software development experience shipping commercial or industrial hardware products.
- Expert proficiency in C and C++, with strong scripting skills in Python or Bash.
- Deep experience with Embedded Linux, including kernel configuration, device tree modification, and custom driver development.
- Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson and the JetPack ecosystem.
- Understanding of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN bus, and USB communication protocols.
- Experience interfacing with high-resolution image sensors, cameras, or specialized sensors.
- Proficiency with Git, CMake, Docker, and embedded-target software engineering workflows.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT, and gRPC networking and IoT protocols.
- Ability to use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters for hardware/software debugging.
- Expertise with version control practices including trunk-based development, release planning, cherry-picking, and rebasing.
- Preferred experience with Yocto Project, Buildroot, RTOS, bare-metal ARM development, or deploying and optimizing machine learning models at the edge.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
