Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and review data pipelines and related code with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Collaborate with product managers, analysts, and data scientists on defined features and improvements.
- Build and maintain data-quality checks, documentation, and basic governance practices.
- Investigate pipeline failures, data inconsistencies, and operational issues and contribute fixes with mentorship.
- Learn the data platform, tooling, and codebase through hands-on development, feedback, and code reviews.
- Contribute ideas and improvements to team practices, data quality, and reliability.
Requirements
- Early-career experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, data-focused software development, or related internships, graduate roles, courses, personal projects, bootcamps, or open-source contributions.
- Practical experience working with data in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Scala.
- Basic understanding of software engineering fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, and data processing.
- Familiarity with Git, testing, or basic CI/CD workflows, or motivation to develop these skills.
- Exposure to GCP, AWS, or Azure, or strong interest in learning cloud practices in production.
- Clear communication skills and willingness to ask questions, explain work, and seek support.
- Curiosity about data quality, privacy, reliability, and continuous learning.
- Nice-to-have familiarity with Spark, SQL, batch or stream processing, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, monorepos, AdTech, MarTech, data privacy, or responsible handling of sensitive data.
