Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of software models, simulations, and control-system frameworks for space telescope GNC systems.
- Develop high-fidelity physics-based and empirical system and subsystem models to evaluate behavior, predict performance, and support engineering decisions.
- Lead integrated control-loop simulators and digital engineering environments for spacecraft performance analysis, including jitter, line-of-sight stability, structural dynamics, and image quality.
- Define model assumptions, verification and validation strategies, data-quality requirements, and model maturation plans across the system life cycle.
- Lead software-enabled systems architecture, requirements development, decomposition, verification, and performance analysis for advanced spaceflight systems.
- Develop software tools and analytical methods for architectural trade studies, system interfaces, and performance allocations while maintaining traceability between requirements, models, and verification.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical, optical, and systems engineering teams across multiple programs.
- Establish software engineering practices, modeling standards, simulation methodologies, and peer-review processes.
- Lead technical reviews and mentor engineers and researchers in modeling, software development, and systems engineering.
- Contribute to engineering guides, standards, reusable software frameworks, and lessons learned, and represent the organization as a subject matter expert.
