Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly available, scalable, and performant solutions.
- Build, integrate, support, and improve data streaming services on the Akamai Platform, including systems for collecting and analyzing performance metrics.
- Design and develop DevOps tools that improve the software delivery system.
- Develop tools and processes to monitor, analyze, maintain, and improve streaming data pipeline usability and observability.
- Automate operational tasks to streamline daily work toward a zero-human-engagement model.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and support platform reliability and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with SQL and software development using at least two of Golang, Python, Java, C/C++, or JavaScript.
- At least five years of experience with distributed systems, Linux networking, TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, and HTTP protocols.
- At least three years of experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
- At least three years of experience with observability, performance analytics, and security tools such as Prometheus and DataDog.
- Experience with big-data platforms such as Hadoop and Spark.
- Skills in Bash scripting, SQL, and REST API design.
