Base Salary
$170k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Debug software products through systematic testing and develop, apply, and maintain quality standards.
- Develop, modify, and execute software test plans, automated scripts, and testing programs.
- Enhance and maintain automation tools, automated testing systems, and continuous integration systems.
- Document and analyze test results, recommend corrective action, and consult with development engineers to resolve problems.
- Collaborate with security and software engineers on system-level testing and integration.
- Interface with sales and customers to recreate, diagnose, and help resolve field issues.
- Learn new technologies and build tools that improve efficiency and developer productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, including at least 3 years as an SDET.
- At least 2 years of development experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, debugging multi-tier web architectures, and reading and writing code.
- Experience designing and developing automation frameworks from scratch and writing backend integration tests for RESTful APIs.
- Frontend test automation experience with TestCafe, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools; Synack uses Playwright.
- Experience with BDD tools, GitHub Actions or similar CI tooling, source control, and release management.
- Understanding of virtualization and containerization technologies such as Docker and cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Experience analyzing logs and testing agentic systems or using agents to optimize workflows.
- Preferred experience includes testing cloud-based products, understanding VPN types, and load and performance testing.
