Base Salary
$200k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Create software architecture for real-time, fault-tolerant control of a 20kW-plus spacecraft.
- Develop software applications controlling propulsion, guidance and attitude control, thermal, power, and communications subsystems.
- Design and implement state machines for robust spacecraft operation.
- Create and use tools that enable rapid deployment of quality software.
- Perform data analysis and anomaly investigation to identify and resolve software bugs.
- Support spacecraft subsystem integration and testing.
- Build and maintain infrastructure that improves reliability during software development and testing.
- Develop, deploy, and verify software using software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulators.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or another STEM discipline, or 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Development experience with Rust, C/C++, Python, VHDL, and SystemVerilog.
- Preferred experience with spacecraft flight software, Linux systems programming and driver development, continuous integration and continuous delivery systems, and hard real-time embedded systems using bare-metal or RTOS environments.
- Preferred knowledge of electronics, computer architecture, control systems, state machines, software verification and testing, software and network performance analysis, and debugging.
- Preferred experience implementing Extended Kalman Filters for inertial sensors, fault-tolerant software, and test systems for hardware-in-the-loop and hardware-out-of-the-loop environments.
- Applicants must meet applicable ITAR export-control eligibility requirements.
