Responsibilities
- Deploy and set up test instances and databases on Linux and in the cloud using Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
- Troubleshoot deployment, test, and product issues.
- Develop performance tests using LoadRunner, Apache Benchmark, and custom scripts in Python, Perl, and Bash.
- Monitor and analyze logs and metrics to diagnose issues and bottlenecks.
- File and track product issues in Jira with detailed reproduction steps.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to investigate and mitigate testing problems.
- Improve automation to enhance analysis efficiency.
- Demonstrate initiative and communicate proactively while continuously improving.
Requirements
- 8+ years of dedicated experience in performance engineering, preferably with complex, containerized, distributed products in the cloud.
- Strong experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.
- Proficiency in performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter.
- Scripting skills in Bash, Perl, or Python.
- Ability to diagnose bottlenecks in PostgreSQL or other relational database queries.
- Experience with performance monitoring tools like New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
