Infrastructure DevOps
TELUS DigitalResponsibilities
- Own release planning, scheduling, coordination, deployment governance, post-release validation, release gates, change procedures, and rollback strategies.
- Manage deployment pipelines and orchestrate releases across development, staging, pre-production, and production environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines while advancing Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, observability, and automation practices.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, monitoring, alerting, and incident response through tooling and automation.
- Lead infrastructure and networking projects from initiation through delivery, including scope, milestones, resources, risks, budgets, and stakeholder reporting.
- Coordinate network engineers, cloud architects, security teams, application teams, QA teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Act as the communication bridge between technical infrastructure teams and business stakeholders through status updates, risk assessments, reviews, dashboards, and decision logs.
- Support QA and testing teams by troubleshooting pre-production environment issues and maintaining stable, current, production-representative environments.
- Architect, document, provision, and manage scalable GCP infrastructure using Terraform, including networking, governance, IAM, security, resilience, observability, and cost optimization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or platform operations.
- Experience managing releases and deployments in large-scale environments.
- Strong project management skills; PMP or equivalent is an asset.
- Understanding of GCP architectures, including multi-region, high-availability, and disaster recovery patterns.
- Hands-on expertise with Terraform and GCP services.
- Proficiency with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Cloud Build.
- Exceptional communication skills for executive and engineering audiences.
- Experience supporting QA and testing teams with pre-production environment management.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and stakeholder-facing reports.
- Preferred qualifications include GCP Professional Cloud Architect, HashiCorp Terraform Associate or Professional, ITIL v4 Foundation, Kubernetes/GKE, Helm, ArgoCD, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Istio, Envoy, Cloud FinOps, and TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
