Base Salary

$164k - $342k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, test, and deploy detection logic across cloud and enterprise environments using version control, peer review, and measurable performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain incident-response automation, runbooks, and tooling to reduce containment timelines.
  • Improve telemetry schemas, normalization, enrichment, and quality checks to reduce false positives and improve signal fidelity.
  • Perform digital incident investigations, digital forensics, and malware analysis to identify breaches and understand attack methods.
  • Integrate alerting with messaging and ticketing systems for fast, traceable response workflows.
  • Partner with IT, security, and engineering teams to strengthen identity and access patterns, logging, forensics, and scalable security guardrails.
  • Use threat intelligence platforms to improve threat hunting, detection, and response workflows.
  • Communicate incident significance, business impact, and remediation recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Detection Engineering, Incident Response, or Security Operations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language and ability to write production-grade code is required.
  • Experience designing or improving detection pipelines, SIEM content, and alerting workflows in cloud-native environments is preferred.
  • Practical experience with SIEM, EDR, and SOAR tools, including programmatic integrations or platform extensions, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of modern cyber threats, attack techniques, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures is preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital forensics tools and malware analysis techniques is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and their security telemetry is preferred.
  • Exposure to threat intelligence platforms and integrating intelligence into detection and investigation workflows is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as GCIH, GCFA, GCIA, CISSP, or GDSA are a plus.
