Deployed Software Engineer (Senior or Staff)

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver high-quality features that create customer and business impact
- Work directly with customers to identify, ideate, and solve challenging problems
- Collaborate with product, design, and go-to-market teams on user-focused solutions
- Balance iteration speed with maintainability, system health, reliability, and performance
- Improve the technology stack, developer workflows, and reliability practices
- At Senior scope, lead complex projects, shape roadmaps, define architectural tradeoffs, mentor engineers, and manage complex customer relationships
- At Staff scope, drive company-level technical initiatives, influence cross-team architecture, set engineering standards, shape long-term technical strategy, advise leaders, and represent Fieldguide externally
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping production code
- Familiarity with TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, and GraphQL
- Ability to write maintainable, well-tested, and observable code with sound reliability and performance judgment
- Ability to build strong customer relationships, develop creative solutions, and deliver work tied to business outcomes
- Clear communication, effective cross-functional collaboration, ownership, empathy, and continuous improvement
- Experience mentoring peers and contributing to hiring and onboarding
- Nice-to-have experience with applied AI and LLMs, audit or risk management, building new technology stacks or engineering organizations, direct customer work, AWS, Postgres, Hasura, document-heavy workflows, ML-powered document systems, and security or compliance principles such as SOC 2 and FedRAMP
