Responsibilities
- Design and build internal AI-powered tools and software that streamline engineering, manufacturing, and operational workflows.
- Automate repetitive processes and integrate AI tools with engineering software, databases, documentation, and operational systems.
- Develop systems, dashboards, reporting tools, and data pipelines for analyzing shop operations, equipment performance, and field activities.
- Build and deploy machine learning, statistical, predictive, and potentially computer vision models for engineering applications.
- Use LLMs and AI agents to automate complex workflows and improve internal productivity.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and field engineers, technicians, and operators to take projects from problem identification through implementation.
- Identify opportunities to apply software, data, and AI to robotics, manufacturing, equipment monitoring, and field operations.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience building software tools, automation scripts, and data-processing pipelines.
- Experience with LLM APIs, AI agents, machine learning frameworks, or applied AI systems.
- Ability to build end-to-end applications spanning data ingestion, backend logic, and simple user interfaces.
- Strong data analysis skills, including SQL, Pandas, and statistical modeling.
- Experience integrating APIs, databases, and third-party software platforms.
- Ability to work with messy, incomplete, or unstructured real-world data and independently solve loosely defined problems.
- Interest in physical engineering systems, manufacturing, robotics, or industrial operations.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Preferred experience includes industrial automation, PLCs, sensors, equipment telemetry, time-series data, predictive modeling, optimization algorithms, computer vision, CAD software, engineering simulations, engineering data pipelines, modern web frameworks, or cloud services.
