Senior Staff Software Engineer - Delta

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems serving Databricks workspaces.
- Build high-QPS, low-latency, reliable, and performant systems for workspace assets.
- Perform low-level systems debugging, performance measurement, and optimization on large production clusters.
- Design architectures, influence the product roadmap, and own new projects.
- Introduce tools that improve service automation and operability.
- Prevent and investigate production issues using deep technical experience.
- Plan and lead complex technical projects involving multiple internal teams.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, lead sprint planning, delegate assignments, and participate in project planning.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world applications.
- Experience driving company initiatives toward customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work toward a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related major, or equivalent experience.
- Motivation to deliver customer value and measurable impact.
