Base Salary
$147k - $202k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, reliability, performance, and scalability of Harvey’s Next.js/Vercel web platform, Sanity content layer, and supporting services and APIs.
- Design data foundations and integration patterns connecting the website with marketing, analytics, CRM, and GTM systems across real-time and batch workloads.
- Establish automation, CI/CD, preview and deployment tooling, and robust automated testing practices.
- Set standards for structured logging, tracing, Core Web Vitals, performance budgets, and alerting.
- Lead the use of AI and ML in content operations, personalization, and internal web tooling.
- Partner with Security and Infrastructure to harden the platform while preserving developer experience.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship through code reviews, design reviews, and architectural guidance.
Requirements
- Require 8+ years of web development experience, deep backend and systems expertise, and staff-level technical architecture ownership.
- Require strong experience with React/Next.js, TypeScript, server-side rendering, and backend development using Node, Python, or comparable technologies.
- Require experience architecting and operating headless CMS and content platforms such as Sanity or Contentful at scale, including schema design and publishing workflows.
- Require experience operating reliable production systems with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability tooling, and performance optimization based on real-user metrics.
- Require fluency with SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, queuing, and API or webhook integration patterns for marketing and GTM systems.
- Require experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production web experiences or content workflows.
- Require demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, influence across functions, and operate autonomously on a small team.
- Preferred qualifications include Vercel experience, HubSpot, Salesforce, or Segment integrations, SEO and web performance engineering, and experience as the first or most senior engineer on a web platform team.
