Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery for assigned services from requirements through design, implementation, testing, and release.
- Design and build Java-based backend systems and distributed services for enterprise document workflows.
- Define and apply architecture patterns for APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations.
- Guide document management capabilities including ingestion, storage, metadata, versioning, and access control.
- Support document output and distribution flows, downstream integrations, and delivery reliability.
- Improve observability, incident response readiness, and performance troubleshooting across services.
- Collaborate with product, security, and platform stakeholders on business, compliance, and security requirements.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical coaching, and structured knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend and distributed-systems focus.
- 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership capacity, such as leading a squad, mentoring engineers, or owning delivery.
- Proven experience building and operating cloud-native production services, preferably SaaS or multi-tenant services.
- Experience influencing design, code quality, and delivery practices within a team environment.
- Strong proficiency in Java and backend service architecture; Spring and Spring Boot are preferred.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience using AWS, Kubernetes, containerization practices, and cloud-native design patterns.
- Experience designing and integrating secure, versioned REST APIs.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL data stores and sound data modeling practices.
- Experience applying logging, metrics, and tracing for production readiness.
- Ability to evaluate and apply AI/ML capabilities to document workflows such as classification, extraction, and semantic search.
- Strong technical decision-making, communication, and pragmatic trade-off management skills.
