Responsibilities
- Design, develop, analyze, test, and debug computer software applications and systems in real-time embedded environments.
- Customize and configure Linux for target systems and develop kernel-space BSPs and drivers as well as user-space applications.
- Interface with embedded devices and FPGA registers and provide socket-based user interfaces.
- Document component and subsystem specifications, design documents, interface documents, and test plans.
- Report progress and status, including schedule input and cost information for design assignments.
- Prepare complex proposals, including statements of work, requirements, and basis-of-estimate materials.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance to engineers and support personnel.
- Lead technical groups or activities and drive completion on time and within budget.
- Communicate with internal manufacturing and program management groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, engineering, or a related technical field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Strong software development background using C/C++ and Python on Linux, with some Windows experience.
- Understanding of multithreading and multiprocessing concepts.
- Hands-on embedded device development experience, including ARM-based systems interfacing with FPGAs.
- Proficiency developing embedded Linux drivers for TCP/IP, UART, I²C, PCIe, and other interfaces.
- Experience with Git, SVN, defect-tracking tools such as Jira, peer code reviews, and modern software development practices.
- Ability to independently lead technical teams and fluency in relevant technologies and application domains.
- Preferred experience with RF signal processing, including DDC, ADC, DAC, and equalization.
- Preferred experience developing software-defined radios, including the VITA 49 protocol.
- Preferred experience working across software, firmware, hardware, and RF disciplines.
- Preferred experience with Linux virtual machines, Docker, and related development tools.
