Base Salary
$269k - $335k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation-model training, LLM inference, agents, multi-agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Develop state-of-the-art optimization techniques for the scalability, cost, latency, throughput, and hardware utilization of production AI systems.
- Define the technical vision, roadmap, and enterprise-wide architecture standards for foundational AI systems.
- Own model routing, caching, and orchestration systems supporting hybrid and multi-model workloads.
- Embed transparency, reproducibility, fairness, and other responsible AI principles into system design.
- Lead internal education, mentorship, architecture councils, and AI guild knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus at least 8 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a master's degree in one of these fields plus at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- At least 8 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
- Experience designing AI systems with cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy tradeoffs.
- Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms.
- Experience architecting, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems.
- Ability to lead and mentor multiple engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders up to the VP level.
- Experience with LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, memory, agentic AI systems, and agentic workflows.
- Experience optimizing training and inference software for hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
- Experience defining enterprise AI architecture standards, data pipeline governance, observability, evaluation frameworks, and multi-cloud AI strategies.
- Demonstrated success guiding research-to-production model handoff, evaluation, productization, and AI system metrics.
- Experience right-sizing models, instance counts, and hardware types based on workload requirements.
- Strong communication, presentation, technical judgment, mathematical foundation, and ability to apply current AI research in production.
