Responsibilities
- Define artifact and container-based deployment strategies and evolve the immutable deployment platform.
- Develop applications and infrastructure tools using Python and Golang.
- Design and implement high-volume, low-latency, highly available on-premise and cloud infrastructure on VMware, AWS, and Azure.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and Terraform.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and similar tools.
- Enable developers to build, bake, and deploy images locally, on Kubernetes, and to the cloud.
- Support platforms built with Java, Python, Go, PHP, and other languages.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security and develop tools for metrics, reporting, and monitoring.
- Perform infrastructure upgrades, patching, security hardening, troubleshooting, and incident remediation.
- Oversee bare-metal fleets, enterprise storage, SAN networking equipment, virtualization platforms, and relational and NoSQL datastores.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, systems infrastructure, or related engineering domains.
- Strong programming experience in Python and Golang, including reading and writing code.
- Linux system administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, container-optimized operating systems, and cloud virtualization platforms.
- Experience designing and building tools and infrastructure for AWS or Azure.
- Deep knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Jenkins, GitLab, Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.
- Operational experience supporting cross-functional teams, maximizing system availability, troubleshooting deeply, and remediating incidents.
- Practical VMware vCenter, cluster management, and virtualized platform infrastructure experience.
- Hands-on experience with bare-metal fleets, enterprise storage, and SAN networking equipment.
- Experience with relational datastores such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL technologies including Redis, Elasticsearch, Couchbase, and Cassandra.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
