Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of NKP components for multi-tenancy, resilience, fleet management, edge computing, and resource-constrained environments.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to a distributed team of 15–20 engineers through design reviews, coding standards, and technical excellence practices.
- Partner with Product Management, the Data Services NDK team, and Core Hybrid Cloud teams to turn business goals into technical roadmaps for stateful workloads and disaster recovery.
- Represent Nutanix in the open-source community by contributing to upstream CNCF projects such as Cluster API and Kappa.
- Engage with customers and support teams to resolve complex production issues and maintain platform scale and user experience.
- File patents and author white papers defining the future of hybrid cloud.
Requirements
- 15–20+ years of software development experience in product-led companies, including significant experience architecting and shipping large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
- Experience with cloud-native systems, Docker, containers, and large-scale control-plane management is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes internals, including controllers and API machinery, is a plus.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive consensus across teams, and balance long-term innovation with short-term risk and trade-offs.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
