Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, dashboards, alerts, and operational views using Splunk and New Relic.
- Correlate metrics, logs, and distributed traces to diagnose service degradation and accelerate root-cause analysis.
- Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to guide alerting and reliability priorities.
- Develop and tune actionable alerts while reducing alert noise.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, mitigate, recover from, and review production incidents.
- Perform structured root-cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Manage incidents, changes, problems, and operational work through ServiceNow and related governance processes.
- Create and maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, architecture notes, and knowledge articles.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of observability principles and correlation of metrics, logs, and traces.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk and New Relic, including dashboard creation, alert configuration, and monitoring strategy.
- Understanding of SRE concepts including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident response, and reliability engineering practices.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex production environments.
- Experience with production operations, change management, incident management, and operational support.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar incident and change tracking tools.
- Understanding of GCP services, particularly BigQuery and Cloud Run.
- DevOps and CI/CD experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications on OpenShift.
- Proficiency in Unix shell scripting and Python.
- Strong written communication and process-documentation skills.
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
- Bachelor's degree focused on IT or data evaluation, or comparable professional experience.
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly and critically to improve productivity and solve business problems.
