Base Salary
$140k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Python REST API services integrating CRM platforms with payments, account management, and internal data services.
- Diagnose and resolve production performance issues involving blocking I/O, connection handling, caching, and API latency under load.
- Use asyncio to parallelize I/O-bound work safely while maintaining service throughput.
- Implement and tune Redis or similar caching layers for high-throughput endpoints.
- Build and maintain CRM integrations, including data queries and REST-based synchronization.
- Deploy and operate services in a cloud environment using serverless functions, containerized services, and monitoring or alerting.
- Use observability and APM tooling to trace requests, identify bottlenecks, and validate production fixes.
- Write clean, tested, and maintainable code with separated API, business logic, and infrastructure layers.
- Participate in rotating on-call and production support by triaging alerts, coordinating fixes, and preventing incidents from becoming outages.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, DevOps/SRE, and product stakeholders to scope and deliver integration work.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience with Python, including asynchronous programming and building or maintaining REST APIs.
- Experience designing reliable data integrations, including synchronization, reconciliation, failure handling, retries, and data consistency across systems.
- Understanding of HTTP and API design, including pagination, timeouts, rate limiting, caching, and debugging production performance issues.
- Experience with a key-value or caching data store; Redis experience is a plus.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider, preferably AWS, including serverless functions or containerized services.
- Ability to use logs and distributed traces to debug systems issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Twilio, Voice, Studio, Flex, or similar telephony/IVR platforms is preferred.
- Experience integrating with Salesforce, including SOQL, Apex, and REST APIs, is preferred.
- Familiarity with Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or structured logging is preferred.
- Comfort writing SQL for debugging and data validation, including data warehouse queries or SOQL, is preferred.
- Familiarity with OpenAPI or Swagger is preferred.
- Experience with AWS Step Functions, container autoscaling, or Terraform is preferred.
- Prior on-call or production-support experience is preferred.
